At Arcadia Lodge, you’ll start each day with one of the finest views in the Bay of Islands while enjoying your gourmet breakfast.
Thanks to Peter’s 20 years of chef experience, your breakfast focuses on vibrant, fresh flavours using homegrown fruit and vegetables, along with the best locally grown produce. Where possible we try to support our local community suppliers such as Rachel & Kent at Tahora Coffee.
It begins with a rotating selection of home-made cereals and Greek-styled yoghurt with delicious fruit compotes and seasonal fruit, topped off with fresh fruit juices.
This is followed by a cooked, café-style dish, crafted and adapted daily according to the season. It could be anything from bruschetta (slow-roasted tomatoes on herbed ricotta), a roasted vegetable frittata with crispy bacon, or our version of up-market avocado smash. Scrambled egg with smoked salmon & capers is also a firm favourite.
Breakfast even includes our own baking such as crumpets and mini almond croissants, served with home grown preserves, locally roasted coffee and a selection of local teas.

Russell has a lush, sub-tropical climate, perfect for growing our own produce. We make our own preserves from feijoas, guava, lemons, limes and plums, and occasionally include homegrown bananas with breakfast.
Our cottage garden is also abundant with fresh herbs, vegetables and garnishes incorporated daily into your ever-changing breakfast, making it delicious and different from our counterparts.
